I always say, there are certain subjects on which you can't display nuance, as it will cause outrage. Pediphilia, blatant overt racism, anti-semitism, rape, etc. are some of those subjects. Some subjects are seen by the average person in black and white: you're either for or against. I did a face palm when I saw the poor responses to the questions the school presidents were asked. Citing free speech when asked if calling for the death of jews is hate speech just shooting yourself in the foot. I hate these bigoted Republicans, but they are right in that if there was a protest calling for the death of blacks, muslims, or gays on college campuses, that shyt would be shut down with the quickness. Yes, intelligent people know there are a level of nuance to Israel issue, but most don't have the patient for that.
I'm damn sure am no fan of Israel, but I wholeheartedly condemn terrorist attacks against innocent civilians. I just don't see why it's so hard for people protesting the war to just say that. To hell with nuance when it comes to that. What would they say to someone who said they supported and glad the 911 attacks happened. See how crazy that sounds?
