One thing that Marvel did subtly was make it less about the costume and more about the actual person

That gives it more realism. No need to wear something when you don't need to.

I think it’s weak. main reason they did it for ironman is because after the first couple movies he refused to get in that suit again and they just cgi’d it from then on

one of the best things about deadpool was him having the mask on most of the time

it’s not too much of a problem for the characters that aren’t trying to hide their identity but spider-man be out his mask so much it’s ridiculous. even straight up gave dr strange and captain marvel his govt name when he first met them

There's shots where all the characters do is take off their masks and stare at the camera in the middle of a world ending battle shyt the girls even took the time to do a posse-shot.

You're right in the general but there was nothing subtle about it imo.

dudes want shyt to be so deep in these comic book movies they turn everything into something "clever"
