One thing that Marvel did subtly was make it less about the costume and more about the actual person

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Stark gradually wore the suit less and less

After the first avenger, cap took off the mask barely rocking it, and wore a more low profile uniform.

Thor wore his uniform less starting with Age of Ultron

With other characters like ant man and spider man, most of the time, they didn't wear their costumes.

The symbolism in this scene backs up my theory

Stark and BP both switched to nano suits so they can walk around with regular close on most of the time.

In the end, the characters transcended their alter egos.

Subtle?

There's shots where all the characters do is take off their masks and stare at the camera in the middle of a world ending battle :mjlol: shyt the girls even took the time to do a posse-shot.

You're right in the general but there was nothing subtle about it imo.

I felt like this actually the cheapened the look of the character. Instead of practical suits everybody is in cgi costumes. full doesn't look as good as practical with cgi accents.
Also for story purposes it made the characters a little more invincible. Scenes like in civil war where Bucky starts going ham on everyone and Everybody has to try to fight him off in plainclothes will never happen again.

Plus it's corny and annoying when they actors take every opportunity to remove their mask during fight scenes. Shuri clowned Black panther in the movie about taking time to put on his helmet, but realistically he wears even less now then he did in civil war. :mjlol:

BP don't like raising his voice.

He wanted to make sure Clint heard what he was saying in this scene

because their actors whos marketable asset is their faces. it makes perfect sense for their movie counterparts to expose their faces more
Pretty much. Spider-Man stayed losing his mask in the Raimi films, either because it would get ripped apart or because he would just remove it himself half of the time. :mjlol:

I agree, but Ironman 3 could've been called Tony Stark 1.

It was a genius move by the filmmakers, because the characters prior to the films were B and C Team comicbook players.

It's not Superman or Batman or even Spiderman who literally could and have been cast as anyone who looked the part.
