One thing that always bothered me about Avatar and similar movies.

there's a documentary on netflix (forget the name) that explains how animals on earth like planets have to have things like limbs due to gravity. they have concepts of various creatures that 'could' be out there, keeping elements, various gravity and light rays in mind. its pretty cool stuff. wish I could remember the name, but it should be easy to find in the documentary sci-fi section.

:what: Everything we create is a variation of what exists; we draw from experience. How does one make something new from nothing? Cameron and his team spend years designing Pandora's biosphere...coming up with back stories, names and behaviors for creatures who would get less than a 30 seconds of screen time. He developed an ecosystem that stands up to decent ecophysiological criticism yet dude is unoriginal:lupe:

maybe instead of wasting time on that shyt, that nobody cares about,he could have worked on character designs and a plot instead of stealing both.

avatar was garbage.

You guys are missing my point here. :leostare: I meant original looking aliens, as in ones that aren't mechanically human just ugly and super strong. :leostare: Something without legs, arms, eyes, mouth, nose, that doesn't walk, fly, or swim. Something totally original. Is that even possible? Or is it just incomprehensible?

:manny: you're not gonna find alot of those concepts out there. What your asking for is impossible. The only alien i can think of like that is the thing.

You asking for too much breh. There are a ton of interesting and original alien designs out there. You basically want something that doesn't make any kind of logical sense. The xenomorph to this day is an example of a top notch sci fi creation.

I agree. I also like the aliens from pitch black, and though its already been mentioned, the aliens from star wars were pretty imaginative.

You must've not seen my post where I pointed out he stole the whole movie from an 80s comic book, huh? :leostare:
