For what her role was supposed to be I thought Sza was pretty goodIt was cute. Not Friday level of comedy, more like a low budget rip off of that, but it was entertaining enough to get the audience to laugh. Some of the plot points felt contrived and frankly awkwardly executed but overall I had fun. I do think Sza should stick to singing though lol. 6.5/10
Discussing your spoilers:Overall: This is movie I will watch again. Like I'm really tempted to see it in theatres again but it's too much I wanna see (Den of Thieves, Heart Eyes, Captain, etc). Bottom line this is my sense of humor. Movies like the "Blackening" were ok but I didn't really laugh. This movie had me with so many great guest appearances. Some of the messages were cool (i.e. gentrification, fba vs ados). The movie was great until the final acts. Then the writers just stop trying.
Ke Ke- Similiar to babyZendaya, I just like her personality. The way she talks, her energy.
Sza-The obvious. She looked incredible. Her character got annoying at times. But she's cool in here. I didn't love her. But I liked her in here. Now, my major spoilers with the cameos
That woman at the credit place had me dying. The way she laughed them. Just sonned them.
Principal from Abbot- She was good. But that blood scene literally had me yelling what! Maybe I should have seen it coming. But that blood spill every where was like a horror scene.
Tony Baker is Tony Baker. If you like his sense of humor you will love him here. The biscuit bandit part was great.
Lil Rel was cool. I don't really get into him (pause). But he was funny here.
The Deebo chick was cool. But why would they choose a woman without a big booty? She was borderline flat. Weird casting with her nickname.
Sza bf- I know that dude from somewhere. But can't recall the movie or show. They coulda kept that one part which Tony D'mata and Knicks woulda went crazy overBut I liked his character. Yeah, he's stereotypical but it was still cool
Jerome from Snowfall- I knew the voice but was trying to figure out who it was. Then he appeared I was like oh snap. But they really messed up. He could have been a great villian in this movie. But downplayed it. I did like tribute to "Juice"/ elevator scene with Bishop/Q. But that whole fire scene, getting arrested was corny.
Hated the ending. This should be a franchise and they wrote it in a way with a happy ending. I wanna see them go through another adventure. Not saying it can't be done. "Friday" had them move out the hood and still was a successful movie. But I like them in the hood and the struggle. But overall this probably will be in my Top 10 this year.
Thanks. So yeah I probably seen bro on some skit then. Yeah I feel youDiscussing your spoilers:
Maria Sophia stole the fukking movie. Just like she stole that season of Curb.
Sza bf is internet famous. He does all those skits where he’s playing different characters or points of views having an argument together.
Movie was really enjoyable. Could have been an all time classic had they cast a real actress instead of Sza (she out forth effort though, so good for her) and toned the ridiculousness down about 2-3 notches.
They got no creativity now days, sad…Movie was corny to me. Typical slapstick type comedy. I was bored.![]()
