solid picks we have plenty of picks so grabbing the guy we want I'm fine with I think we drafted two. Starters for years to come chip and baalke get a passing grade tonight

you don't have a 2k yard rusher without a good run blocking line. garnett is a really solid pick and will help anchor that line for years. i like it. i would've taken whitehair but can't go wrong either way. day 1 was a good day

the Garnett pick is a bit weird, I do feel like it was half cockblock of seattle, and half of us wanting that great run blocking guard in mold of iupati. whats weird is that hes a power, not zone guy, and hes not that great at pass pro. he might be a poor mans iupati. giving up an early 4th kinda hurts tho, but we needed a guard and its better than a usual baalke pick

Yea I think we picked up maybe the best run blocking guard in the draft. But as the line is currently constituted we may as well be a power run scheme. I also don't like to lose 2nd day picks because we've been able to turn those into solid backup or rotatonial players.

I liked Whitehair better, but I don't mind this pick at all. Garnett was considered to be the best run blocking lineman in the draft, he's a beast on those sweeps and pull blocks. I'm excited.

the value of the pick could be a bit better, but I like the player and I heard Chip tried recruiting him for Oregon plus its almost a guarantee he'll be good at run blocking

Niners have had some bad luck with OL from Stanford recently Kwame and Jon Martin But unlike those guys Garnett has some nastiness in his game. I'm satisfied with this pick.
