Josh norman

I was thinking that same thing!!!

And rumor has it that HE WANTS TO PLAY IN CALIFORNIA!!!

The Rams dont really need a CB, he prolly dont wanna play for the Chargers.... that leaves us and the Raiders and no way in HELL should we let another nice player go to the Raiders.

All that money we sitting on and how inactive Trent been... THIS needs to be the move he should make!!

On Norman

Don't assume the Niners go after him, I think he's a scheme specific player

We have too much money and too many holes to no try to get him. And as it has already been established, we don't even know what scheme we are gonna have. No clue if Norman might end up being another Nnamdi but at this point I just want something out of Baalke and all that cap space. We gotta spend money anyway, why not try with a damn good CB?

I think getting Norman would go quite a ways to reestablishing our D. Dude has been an elite cb for the past 2 years, enough that I don't think he's a fluke.
Josh Norman's worth and free-agent destinations

Getting Norman and drafting Buckner would have us on the warpath again.

FS- Reid
SS- Tartt
CB- Norman
CB- Brock/Ward
OLB- Lynch
ILB- Bowman
ILB- Hodges
OLB- Brooks/Harold
DE- Armstead
NT- Williams
DE- Buckner

That's the basis of a very good D, potentially elite in a couple years. Reid, Tartt, Ward, Lynch, Armstead and Buckner are all 24 and under. :whoo:

“I’ve loved it,” Norman said Thursday per the San Jose Mercury News. “I woke up this morning, opened my curtains and saw the hills of the valley. It’s so gorgeous.

“Yeah, man, it’s like a movie script, from the 'Lord of the Rings.' It’s unbelievable," Norman added. "Then I roll up to San Fran, and I look at the scenery on the side of the road, and I was like ‘Man, this is really cool. I could probably envision myself here one time or two.”

The 49ers are expected to have boatloads of cash in salary cap space and they will need it, given their needs on both sides of the ball. Norman, though, praised the franchise's tradition and championship pedigree while soaking in the view.

“I know they’re rebuilding over there, and I know they have a new coach in Chip Kelly,” Norman said. “There’s a lot of things that San Francisco has going on for themselves right now. It’s beautiful out here. It really is.”

Fukk scheme fit. We need to open up the checkbook for this dude. We have the money and it would keep us from having to reach for one in the draft. Josh Norman is arguably the best free agent available and low key wants to come here. This isn't rocket science.

Eh Norman is mostly a zone guy. He night get exposed in a man scheme and O'neill runs predominantly man. We have money but I really don't want another Clements situation. Short term it looks like a decent pickup, long term is where it gets murky.

Long term is irrelevant

If he does sign here his contract will be so front loaded it won't affect the cap beyond this year or next year.

Pft has him highly rated but I dont how he fits here. I wonder if baalke talked to the d-cord before making the call?

'Long term irrelevant' is how salary cap hell starts.

I get where you're coming from and normally I don't like to overpay for free agents but we have to spend money somewhere and I don't mind getting a legit player in an area of need. I remember the nate clements and yea we overpaid but that's what we have to do in order to get talent to play on this team. We don't have the luxury of signing vets for less.
