Even though I did think Kenny's time was up, I agree with y'all that it's a tough look.

But we have to trust in Marks that he'll find the right coach that will run the system they want and the players will like

He hasn't let us down yet

I don't believe he strong armed Marks into this. Marks refused to take this job without full authority to do what he wants. Tsai and the players may have pushed for it but I don't believe Marks didn't approve it

Marks got no choice breh..Tsai is the owner..he took that role with Prok being majority owner at the time :manny:

I dont think he was strong armed..it just seems everyone had their reservations and it was just done now.

If he did strong arm Marks, you know hes the type to walk himself out the door seasons end.

Crazy shyt. Don’t think Kenny deserved to get fired like that but I always trust Marks. I appreciate Kenny for getting us through the tough times but his stubbornness and inflexibility with rotations drove me nuts sometimes.

Also some of the takes from non-Net fans were ridic in the other thread they really didn’t know wtf they were talking about

Daaamn I just woke up to the news. I wished they had waited till the season was over though. Like the day after the season or something lol.

We knew this day would come. Kenny is not a championship coach, he’s a transitional coach. He held us down during the dog years when it seemed like there was no future, foreal foreal. He will always have my respect and I hope he gets another opportunity elsewhere soon. Finna light one for my man Kenny Atk :salute::salute:

Honestly thinking about those Boston and Memphis games sealed Kenny’s fate imo. If Caris didn’t go off in the 4th/OT, Atkinson is fired immediately on Thursday.

Funny how everyone's bringing up how great the Boston win was, while ignoring the fact they looked like shyt for 3 quarters, and it took him basically throwing the towel in and playing the guys he refused to play for them to get back in. Then he admitted in the post game he wanted to put the starters back in, and had to be talked down by an assistant. Who would even think of letting the guys back in who didn't come to play?

And ignoring how shyt we've looked for weeks, and ignoring getting embarrassed by Memphis. But we blew out a bad Spurs team so all that's forgotten.

Nets fans have had their issues with Kenny since the beginning, yet if you read these articles and tweets from the media you'd think we just fired Phil Jackson after a 3 peat. Kenny will be great in another rebuild situation, I just never was convinced he could take that next step. And it seems like more than a few people in the organization agreed.
