Also it’s obvious from the jump that all the other girls were disposable in the eyes of their company outside of Beyoncé. Kelly Rowland is the only other one able to break out away from just being another “who?” Of the group.

There is even one scene in the first video where a bright light shines behind Beyoncé and blocks out the other girls for a second. Intentionally.

Though the sad reality is that no doubt Beyoncé is talented but I wondered if colorism drove some
