would prolly give that title to Bustas album but as far as more of an Aftermath release fair point

having listened and anticipated this album at the time, this def did not disappoint, i feel Dre's involvment made the album what it is, Game did his thing as well but the production is the impressive thing here, BANGER AFTER BANGER AFTER BANGER...

Wouldve preferred that Dre and Snoop vocal contributions were kept for the retail release but thats more of a nitpick

RIP NATE D O GG

this.

maybe they weren't "stars" like that but artists like Bishop Lamont and Stat Quo would've had a bigger run if Dre put his foot in their debut albums like with The Doc and actually released them.

West Coast was dry with new talent and The Game was that new blood that was right on time when The Documentary dropped. The Game was the one who really brought Eazy E's name back out there like no other. The Game was putting Eazy's name on the same level as Tupac and rightfully so.

I bought multiple copies of this, this was the height of my partying and drinking before I went to jail that year. LOTS of memories to this, when I was 19.

My friends taking a lot of ectascy, waking up drinking Hennessey, playing nothing but this album and Mac Dre.

Staying up all night with A, my homies sister, listening to this album in bed. There was a few like thug love songs that I was trying to channel back then lol probably still am

oh god. This like me off a half fifth of hennessy making out with my boys sister in front of everyone at her house. We were out of control lol

This one of those albums I heard all the way through dozens and dozens of time. Like waking up from a drinking binge hearing the end, passing out, hearing it from the beginning.

let Game tell it these days, Dr. Dre did none of the beats on The Documentary :wtf:

could be an emotional ghost-producer stray, but you're right, The Doc felt like the most attention to detail Dre had put in on another nikka's album up to that point in a long time.

Havoc even gave it up to Dre :dame:, citing that Dre re-created the "Don't Need Your Love" beat from scratch after Hav lost the files.

The Game was and still is dope, but those records made the album; he didn't necessarily make the records. The production, hooks and features -- the perfect storm, as you said. He was practically given a classic album.

Game made it the sense that he did what the other artists on the roster couldn't do, catch Dre's full attention. Dre wasn't really paying attention to this project either until he heard Dreams, then they started knocking tracks out. Then put him him with 50 to craft hooks and give the G-Unit shine, because he knew they was onto something. And 50 saw it too, which is why he jumped on it so quick and gave his all to it.

Game had presence, enthusiasm and sincerity you felt on this project, that was the aspect that couldn't be manufactured and a big part of the albums success and continued rep.

Album marked the end of the 2000s West Coast revival.

It’s a classic that I don’t revisit much. The name dropping was ridiculous even back in 2005.

This album along with the Massacre, was the only highlight of early 2005 on a personal level. Classic album.

Subject matter wise this album felt more diverse than the debut albums of the other G Unit members.
