Feels like this was the last universally lauded Hov album.

Even 4;44 had mix reviews that trended towards positive.

EDIT: :damn: Wait, did I just read 15 years?! How?!

Nevermind, Jay had to do a Streets Is Watching after Kingdom Come came out the year before

15 years, but, only 3 albums ago

Wouldn't say that

444 was critically acclaimed and grammy nominated. Multi platinum

Marcy Me, Smile, Adnis, 444, Kill Jay Z was objectively some of his best work, most introspective

AG top 5. I Know, Fallin, Ignorant shyt and Say Hello still go

Both albums production, writing, cohension, replay value just top tier

My only gripe with 444 was his flow at times

Sheesh. This album was a moment.

- I remember ignorant shyt being on mixtapes a good 3,4 years earlier…

-but then hearing the CDQ, Beans w/ a verse :ohhh: and Jay with the political ether, kinda the beginning of that lane for him

-The debates over people saying Hello Brooklyn kept it from being a 5 mic’er. Back when you had to have a near flawless album to use the word classic

-The moment you hear Nas come on Success :dead:

-Listening to the album then watching the movie and can pinpont the scene every song pulls from
