Thinking of checking this out. Just finished Jessica Jones and trying to decide between this or lost in space. Gonna do one after the other. Unless you guys got any better recommendations. The end of the fukking world and last kingdom are also options. Trying to keep it short so might do this show first.
Just finished it. Was a good season and decent show. Had it's moments. That ending where Monse said, I think I just saw my mom had me like 
. Plus rooting for Jamal the entire team in his search for the roller Derby treasure. Glad they got renewed for a second season. Curious to see what happens next.

Finished watching this, pretty solid show .
Some parts of it were really entertaining and funny, while other aspects annoyed me
. It did leave me curious to see how Season 2 develops and I liked most of the actors looked young considering the characters they were playing.

I’m surprised Netflix renewed this show, given the lack of promotion that it’s gotten. But I’m always ready to support more diverse programming.
I thought that Season 1 was okay. Jamal really makes this show. I enjoyed it most when the focus was on him… avoiding football, trying to find the RollerWorld money, or just interacting with Ruby, Monse, Ruby’s grandmother, and the weird gardener and his gnomes. Those were best parts.
I didn’t care for the whole “get Cesar out the gang” plot or whatever was going on with Cesar/Monse/Olivia/Ruby. If there’s one good thing about essentially replacing Olivia’s role on the show with Jazmine – besides that Olivia was by far the least compelling of the ensemble, and Jazmine is funnier than she was – it’s that you can probably expect less of the clichéd love triangles. Probably one of the reasons I liked Jamal best is because he’s not heavily involved with any of that. His storylines were funnier and more interesting.
In any case, I’m ready for Season 2.
