Peace Yall

What Holding a convo with a young lady who is a member of Sigma Delta Tau :beli:[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigma_Delta_Tau]], she spoke on the some of the customs (which went into one ear and out the other).

For those On The Coli what are your thoughts on Sororities/Fraternities?
Do You see it as a waste of time? why or why not?

Also is anyone familiar with these as far as insides customs?

*Awaits all of the non-greeks who will come in and say that all greeks are gay and try to clown like usual*

I'm a black greek member. It's what you make out of it. Some people just pledge, go to parties, and really don't associate with the organization when the graduate or just leave school. Others will be totally involved and do all types of good work in the community as well as cultivate relationships that will last for a lifetime. It's not for everybody, or else everybody would be in it. But I have found it to be great. I'm in the legal profession, and there have been countless frat brothers who have helped me out with seeking employment and assistance while in law school just because they know I'm frat.

Out here in my damn drawls
I think they're kinda corny, but that's just me :yeshrug:. I'm not about to pay a bunch of square ass nikkas money and let them abuse me for the sake of being friends or "brothers", that shyt is weak :camby:

My best friend pledged to be a "sweet nupe" like his older brother and I went to his induction ceremony thingy and it was straight up :wrist:. A chick I used to kick it with last year was/is apart of the Theta Gamma Chapter of AKA and all her friends are corny and stuck up as shyt (yes, that AKA stereotype rings all the way true, fukk anybody who tells you otherwise). I also have a bunch of colleagues and classmates and old nikkas that have pledged and joined these institutions. Basically, it's just a big ass social club, and it's nothing wrong with that, but it's too much corn for my tastes

And they need to throw those old pictures of a bunch of black men and women all dressed up and lookin' dignified somewhere in a bush, because these sororities and fraternities have really killed any kind of respect people had for thier organizations. Every weekend, them nikkas are fighting at some party, club, or at a Waffle House :heh:

Not really. And that's not to be a dikk about it, there's just nothing I can tell you about it without telling you too much. If you want a general idea, it the end of the "process" where one finally becomes a member of the organization.

Overall they are just annoying imo... I can tolerate all of them besides the "Que Dogs", I have seen them disrespect brothas for no other reason than them having numbers to impose their bullsh1t. Good for them they recognized a MAN just trying to get an education and never approached me with their alpha male act.
