It's not just "white privilege" that allows one to be mediocre. It's privilege period. On a societal level, what she said has been true for Americans in general. Between welfare and especially easy access to credit(pre-approved CCs anyone?) its pitifully easy for most Americans to be mediocre and still get rewarded. Think on how many "30k millionaires" everyone knows.

The situation is far different in 2nd and especially 3rd world countries. They have to claw and scratch and fight for what the average American would consider sub-standard, or even an insult.
