I meant to respond to thread when first dropped but I chilled to see what posts would be like. Omar is a good rapper, I actually listened to a couple of his projects, one in particular was very good I thought so let’s not think because people didn’t know he rapped that he is weak or this is some gimmick.
A lot will clown him because of his acting background especially as a kid but he not green to the streets. He ran with goons and caught his own charges and I believe was affiliated or hung out with the likes. This is not to say he is hard but he not some kid that grew up rich, privileged, and tucked away in some private school and I think was actually homeless for a period. His dad wasn’t around early and even though his brother is a lot older it was Omar who first started bringing money in to the household with his acting. Cuba Jr was in the military if I am not mistaken and didn’t become a successful actor to later.
Omar was in Hollywood but still had people in the streets and he had to deal with that dynamic which isn’t an easy task. You still wanna be with your boys but at the same time you have a lot to lose.
He is a talented actor and stand up comedian. He actually can rap and it’s a mistake to dismiss him, not take him serious, or even mistake him for his older brother. He doesn’t play up his past or make it more than what it was or pretend to be hard or anything. He grew up like a regular kid from the area for the most part.
