The coach before him is suing Ole Miss for defamation (they were trying to blame everything on him to cover for Freeze) and his legal team found this out and basically leaked it.
Ole Miss, realizing shyt was only going to get worse and it was a lost cause, threw in the towel on protecting Freeze and asked him to resign.
