Do you know that people knew wrestling was fake even back in the 50s?

Yes it was revealed back in the 30s when Jack Pfefer told newspapers it was fixed. You can't deny that UFC had a boom right when TUF came on, Heyman even warned Vince to not let Spike put it on after RAW because he saw what was coming.

Without the internet, wrestling being fake was just something people would whisper about or news outlets would joke about so fans of the product throughout the country didn't care.

Edit: Example Vince outright said it was fake in 1989 in front of the New Jersey State Athletic Commission yet in the early 2000s all the kids in my class who watched wrestling had full-blown arguments about whether wrestling was fake or not.

Man, WWE had been on a 4 year decline before TUF ever aired. Yeah, fukking stupid ass kids would argue about wrestling be real or fake in the early 2000s. You had to be a legitimate kid or fukking moron to watch wrestling and realize it wasn't on the up and up even in the 50s. This idea that everyone thought wrestling was legit until sometime in the 90s is typical wrestler revisionist bullshyt. Everyone knew it was fake in the 80s except for kids, no one cared because everyone knew it and went along with it and had a good time, and people that weren't into it constantly made fun of it for being obviously fake and stupid literally the entire time pro wrestling has existed.

TUF and UFC's explosion took more potential talent away from WWE than fans. Imagine watching Raw in 2005 and thinking it was still real

The point is to suspend disbelief and he's right that to an extent these dudes are making it impossible to suspend disbelief.
