What Cornette and a lot of these indie bashing people have to remember is that cats got to eat. If their shtick is making them money and WWE isn't interested at the moment then just leave them alone.
If anything Cornette should be pissed that Vince killed the territories and admitted that wrestling was fake in court. Also wrestling as a serious product died the second Ultimate Fighter came on and MMA boomed.

Same could be said for Cornette. I'm convinced a lot of it is a schtick at this point, that keeps him mildly relevant. Think of one of the wrestlers who ragged even told him a story about Cornette admitting that when they met in person.

Great and often overlooked point.
Cornette probably really does believe what he says, but he also understands that presenting his thoughts in such an over-the-top way keeps him relevant in a business where he's otherwise no longer relevant at all.
Hey, he was always a great talker. Might as well keep using that talent.

I respect the dude's contributions to the business and think he has a lot of knowledge and has a lot of love for the business but sometimes he is legit "Old Man Yells At Cloud" status. The business has changed, kayfabe is dead and he can be big mad about it if it makes him feel better but all it's going to do is raise his blood pressure while Kenny and his crew continue to cash checks.
He may not like it but feelings aren't facts and the fact is enough people like what they do and how they do it that they're willing to show up at their shows and keep their merch money rolling in. I don't even care for the Young Bucks like that but it irks my soul when he gets on his "real wrestling and real wrestling fans" soapbox. They have fans, a lot of them, who like what they do and want to see them do it. If he's that pressed and distressed he should start his own promotion with "real" wrestlers for all the "real" fans he keeps going on about.
