I saw him play when I was young but I never understood the hype.

why was he the #1 recruit going into college? why'd they make such a big deal about when he was drafted?

was it the mid range game? was it the versatility in hairstyles?

seriously tho, what was it. He seemed like a good all around player but never overly GREAT in anything.

help me out.

He averaged a double double for his career breh, 20 and 10. Great hands (no homo) great passer that would start the break for Jason Williams, willing to get out on the break and run. Could play with his back to the rim, pick and roll and pick and fade. Could run a high-low offense with him and another big man.

I honestly think he and Shaq would have worked on the Magic. That's me though.

In the past, Webber has been linked to some famous celebrity women. To name a few, Webber dated actress Nia Long.

I was at the Orlando Arena for a draft day party, because I just KNEW .. that MY Magic would draft MY favorite player, from MY favorite college .. to make damn near one of the most dominating front courts in the history of the game...

And then when we did .. I was in ecstasy .. for about 4 minutes. :stopitslime:

When they traded Webber for Penny .. all I could remember was (i was a young jit.. so cut me some slack) .. me yelling out NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!! What the hell ?!?!?!!?!?!?! This guy cant even spell his name right ?!?!!?!? What the hell is an AnFERnee??? Its Anthony you fool !!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Straight went from :lawd: , :banderas: and :blessed: ... to :whoa: when I heard 'we have a trade to announce' ...

After hearing the trade it was all just :sadcam::what::merchant::why::pacspit::childplease::rudy::wtf::aicmon::scusthov::mindblown::camby:

And finally ...

:to:

I got so mad .. I remember jumping out of my seat .. (the party was held IN the arena) .. and when i jumped out.. that arena was so shytty .. that the armrests came off .. and I threw them onto the court. Yelling n shyt.

2 mintes later .. I had security look at me like :dahell: and ask me .. wtf is wrong with you kid .. I told him it was a shytty pick .. and dude said 'why you breaking and throwing shyt?' .. i told him it was an accident.. but I hope the armrests found a way to hit Pat Williams in the head .. and thats where dude just gave me the :camby:.

I was escorted out.

At the end of the day .. Penny became my all time favorite player. :damn::steviej::smugbiden::banderas:

Along with a passive attitude some of the time before the injuries. He too often was content with sharing the ball than being the man. I call it the Method Man syndrome

You know what. I can agree with this. A lot of times I wished he would just take over a game.. and while he might have had the talent to do so .. he just never had that mindframe. He really was very unselfish. One of the traits as to why he was such a great passer.

I think that was the one thing you could definitively knock him for. He was too good to just disappear, but he could have dominated more.
