Lil nikkas in the streaming era don't understand the "Saturday morning cartoon" and how big of a deal it was to be able to sit down as a kid on the weekend with your cereal and watch all the dope cartoons that you couldn't really see during the week...but the nikka had his own Saturday morning cartoon, and that's just one of his feats as a commercial draw.

He was bigly.

So big that after a certain point it wasn't really cool to like him if you were a straight up hip-hop/rap fan. He was the man when I was in middle school....by 9th grade (which was around the time he started doing commercials, movies, cartoons, toys, etc.) he was considered a clown.

Keep in mind this was before most rappers (and by extension) rap fans gave a fukk about mainstream acceptance. So actively trying to cross over and/or go mainstream was frowned upon.

I'm not saying it was right but :manny: that's just how it was.

You mean real hip hop heads? Hammer was real even though the music wasn't all that.
We didn’t know he was real til the circus was over. I did however learn to respect him as a man but during his hey day it was total :camby:with all that glitter and grinning. Don’t even get me started when he did the chicken commercial.

:russ::mjlol::skip:

I wasn't expecting to find one with the commercial and the Paul Mooney audio together, that makes it even more funny.

"What's it gonna be next week, watermelon chicken? Is this nikkas mama still alive?"

:laff:
