@Midwest

How early were you guys notified with a Tornado Watch? A Warning? THe Emergency?

Can you approximate how early the advances were?

I was at work so i heard on the radio around the same time they did, and they had about 20 minutes to get out the way... The shyt dropped and turned into an F4 in 2 mins. go look at the Fujita scale to help understand how incredible this storm was.

You good bro... you know anybody in moore right now?

i know this is just the internet or whatever, but i really appreciate the roll call.... @Midwest all ya people good? I hope so, I can't help but think at some point, imma know somebody that lost today

my nikka, lemme tell you how the Lord has blessed my family today:
My niece has 2 lil girls, one of which goes to Briarwood elementary
She works at Tinker, and right now, they have her on a regular furlough, so she was off today....

She decided to take them out of school today, since she's not off much, and went to Sooner mall in Norman to do some shopping.
she was going to got back home, and just wait out the tornado, LIKE THEY DID THE ONE YESTERDAY

Right before she was finna leave to go back home, the sirens went off, and they locked the mall down.

Her house, and like 4 other families we know shyt is off da map.

I got a lil one, just 10 months, but I can't imagine the losses right now
I'm already happy to see him everyday, but today was even more so.

Becaue the possibility happens all the time.

There's always a chance of tornadic activity this time of year. And they can form quickly. Sometimes they form completely, sometimes they break up and die down.

I live in jersey but i recall the news saying this storm had potential for giant tornadoes...that should be grounds for closing the school for the day

They would have been safer at home in their basements with their families

At least seven children drowned in the basement of the school, according to a Weather Channel reporter, and up to 30 children remain unaccounted for.

Alot of houses in OkC dont have basements or storm shelters. Kansas/Missouri, I've seen tons of them there, but not alot around the parts of OK i've been to. Too expensive.

The protocol for schools in case of a tornado is just to seek protection, not send everyone home. Maybe that will change now, maybe not

wonder how much a basement addes to a home's cost.....or even just a separated ground shelter......I would think they would be almost mandatory for single family homes...in Tornado Alley

So basically there is no sure way to protect oneself from an f5 tornado unless one builds a really deep shelter I'm assuming

Just terrible man my heart goes out to you guys
