Just 2 years ago the same was said about Okada/Tanahashi and that shyt has been almost completely forgotten as an "all time" series of matches :heh:

Flair and Steamboat had amazing matches for 16 years, Okada/Omega have 4 matches in total, the fukk out of here with the comparison :camby:

Okada/Tana didn't get 6 stars or wasn't talked about worldwide :mjpls:

And it ain't about the number of matches; it's about the quality. This rivalry isn't over.:usure:

I mean, in my opinion Steamboat/Flair shyt's all over Okada/Omega (not to say the latter isn't good though) and they were able to do put on all time-to great matches spanning more than a decade. How can I even begin to compare it to two dudes that have wrestled 4 times in 1 year and a half? :why: shyt, Steamer and Naitch had 4 matches on tape in 89' that are overall better than Kenny/Okada imo, when I add all the other matches I've seen from them it's really silly to compare them.

Okada/Tana didn't get 6 stars or wasn't talked about worldwide :mjpls:

Yes it was, I'm amazed how fast people threw it on the bushes. I remember people getting mad at me in other places because I clowned the thought of comparing it to other all time series of matches and now most fans are like "yeah, those matches were dope I guess :yeshrug:"

:whoa:Hold up...pump them breaks............:lupe:you may be onto something......nah:camby:

  • I can't take Omega serious as a "Steamboat'ish" wrestler
  • Steamboat/Flair's storyline>>>>>
  • Steamboat/Flair's selling>>>>>>>>>>3 hours of Dragon Ball Z shyt:camby:
The thing with Okada/Omega is that the feud itself is non-organic as hell. Every match felt like unneeded spotfest shyt with a spot that almost killed Omega, yet Meltz gave the shyt 6 stars:camby:. Flair and Steamboat wrestled like it's not even about wrestling, it's about setting the example. Flair made Steamboat look like a million bucks, while Steamboat made Flair look like the ultimate threat not only on a physical level but a mental one as well (cars, flashiness, me>>>you mentality). Steamboat was the wrestler that personified the hard working man that comes home to his family, while Flair was the guy that this married man can't stand because he know's that it's morally wrong to fulfill those shoes. Omega/Kenny is a feud based off of stuff, fake money, and funny voices from Omega:ld:

Exactly. I remember watching Omega/Kenny 1 and was like :ooh::krs:..................................:ld:. Compared to Tana/Naito which felt like some Joker/Batman shyt:whew:. I friggin loved that match, even though folks were like meh to it:snoop:. The fact that Tanahashi had to stoop to Naito's level was exceptional storytelling:banderas:. Yet, it get's the meh treatment sadly:aicmon:

4 matches in 18 months is equivalent to years in today's age. Naka/AJ wrestled 4 times in the E in less than 2 months.

And I never saw any Tana/Okada threads on here like I've seen Omega/Okada. Tana/Okada never made ESPN. :mjpls:

And it seems like some of you are getting it twisted. I said this GENERATION'S version. I never said the matches were better.

And cats need to stop bytching about the "spotfest" shyt. It's a new era. y'all acting like they no sold like Lio Rush on that table power bomb. :stopitslime:

So you went from using 6 stars and being talked about as this generation's Flair/Steamboat to Coli threads and ESPN :mjpls:

My whole point is that it's too soon to call it a generational series/rivalry. Because they same was said about Tana/Okada and that was dropped with the quickness. Give this shyt time and then we can talk. I mean, Young Bucks vs Golden Lovers was initially talked about the GOAT match too and that died like 2 weeks after it happened :dead:

The no selling comes with the territory, I don't like it but I understand why they do it. But I mean, this match had Okada taking a dragon suplex like it was a chop to the chest :heh:

Tana/Okada never got that kind of popularity. You brought it up, so I used what I can to help build up how bigger Okada/Omega is. No example is off limits.

I didn't even think GL/YB was GOAT. Damn good, yes, but not great. And I was there.

Kenny / Okada is 2 athletes doing spectacular athletic stuff. But if you just caught this match without knowing anything, you wouldn't be able to pick out the hero and villain.

Kenny / Okada matches have psychology, but people confuse that with STORYTELLING.

That is why Flair/Steamboat ranks above this feud.
