This is the hardest lesson for black people with "good jobs" to learn. Foreign luxury cars, McMansions, designer clothes, and the latest gadgets all in a futile attempt to display success. We need to create generational wealth, but you cant pass down a "good job" to your kids. Measuring wealth by material goods is a poor man's mentality, no one ever got rich by spending money, only by investing money.
Whites, Hispanic and Asians have the same issue.

Very true.... I guess it depends on how the initial wealth was harnessed...if sudden then the rags to riches syndrome (lottery winners & inheritance types comes to mind) is pretty certain to hit home with someone who isn't accustomed to the sudden overwhelming wealthy predicament he/she finds himslef in & BOOM before you know that mentality you speak of is exercised almost reflex like! For the types that grafted hard on the grind & cumulatively built up financial freedom...money management & strategic spending is almost second nature. This acquired skill is merely a by product /experience gathered from the hard up & coming times (Rose tint glasses reflection on life moment).

Oh. I think it depends on each person. But you're saying for the majority who work their way up, they have materialism issues?
Yes, the majority of black people who work their way up have major materialism issues. Moreso black women than men. Graduate with debt, purchase townhouse with debt, leased bmw, maxed out credit cards. They were never taught the value of money, the value is in using it to make more. Its a shame that HBCU's in particular dont make financial literacy a core requirement.

put your goals on paper and keep that shyt inyour wallet and check it often. It's crazy how effective something so small as writing out what you want can be.

If you eat at McDonald's, don't order a Double Cheeseburger. Order a McDouble with extra cheese. They are exactly the same thing, but a McDouble with extra cheese is ~$.50 cheaper.

technically they aren't. the difference is 1 slice vs 2 slices of cheese. but yeah most ppl could do without the slice of cheese and don't really know the difference.

if you wanna get work done it's best you invest in as many monitors as you can (before the monitors have a super computer to handle the multitasking). alt+tab and stuff is just useless really. multi-tasking on multi monitors is key to get real work done.

I have three monitors at work, about to get a fourth whenever I can be bothered to hook it up. :blessed:

We don't let users outside of the IT department have more than two though. :lolbron:

Instead of focusing on getting your money right, focus on getting your mind and your thoughts right. The mind is where everything begins and ends, everything else is just a temporary illusion. What blocks us from our goals is not external obstacles, but mental obstacles.

Dapped; this is some shyt nikkaz need to frame and put on they walls...
