Sharing Is Caring Brehs... lets make life easier for one another by exposing certain traits/ habits about each other that may prove beneficial/ productive per se (Lightbulb!)

Case in point:

On route to work today as a passenger , & my colleague turned on the radio to hear the traffic report due to some commotion ahead. Surely enough 10 minutes later, a mouthful of jargon, and she kind of knew which route to take. Meanwhile, I opened up waze (http://www.waze.com/), had social GPS, traffic updates, police updates, etc. and knew exactly which route would be best & convinced her to let me navigate. To me, this is something (the actual app) a lot of people didn't know much about that saves a lot of time (I commute excessively so its handy ) especially if you on the road alot.

What about you? What's something you've learned that's almost second nature to you at this point, but when you take a step back, you realize others could truly benefit from that knowledge and/or save a lot of time?

being focused on getting money leads to less money than being focused on a mission that might lead to money.
People and business and money --gravitate towards a mission, or a wanted to help people, n shyt like that.

Also, you should always eat the p*ssy first. If you can't do that comfortably then u shouldn't be in it.

Where to put an extra dollar of income.

Basically how to be smart with money.

Also I know what it takes to make a marriage work. First you must choose wisely. Then you must work hard to continue to grow to be a better spouse and then continue to humble yourself over and over again. Pride and selfishness kills.

Even after all that, it could fall apart but it's a recipe for success that I've learned the hard way. But now it makes life easier.

  • Cds that skip can be fixed by polishing them with toothpaste.

  • Put baking soda when making a boil egg, since the baking soda will breaking up the shell much easier.
I was like :gladbron::whoo: when I used the first pointer to restore some play station 1 cd's that were scratched out, as if DJ Kay Slay had his way with them!

Also for my web heads ( prior form of some knowledge needed) who are into 'stylish' customisation & themes & want to alter their daily rotation of websites.. check out this link ;

Stylish basically enables you to manipulate content on any page. Be warned though, Stylish is moderately hard to learn & has limits, but its more portable than Greasemonkey and much more portable than browser plugins.

Also for the computer savvy & multi task experts, heres some quick shortcuts courtesy of a tech forum I frequented!

Switch between open windows and applications
[Alt]+[Tab]
[Alt]+[Shift]+[Tab]

Switch between tabs or multiple documents
[Ctrl]+[Tab]
[Ctrl]+[Shift]+[Tab]

Alternate task switcher
[Win]+[Tab]
[Win]+[Shift]+[Tab]
(Flip 3D in Windows Vista/7

Open previously-closed tabs (repeat for more)
[Ctrl]+[Shift]+[T]
(works in IE/Firefox/Chrome. I dunno about Opera and Safari.)

Open a new Chrome window in "incognito" mode.
[Ctrl]+[Shift]+[N]

New tab
[Ctrl]+[T]

Though I usually just do a new tab first, I can also type an address or keyword shortcut in the address bar of the current tab...then hold [Alt] and press [Enter] to open it in a new tab.

You can middle-click or control-click the back or forward buttons in Chrome to open a new tab with the same navigation buffer.

Chrome "search" providers work as keyword shortcuts and you can pass variables to them. You can make your own. Some that I set up:
  • "mac",([Space] or [Tab]),[full or partial MAC address] to look-up a device manufacturer by its OUI.
  • "mx",([Space] or [Tab]),[email domain name]
look-up a domain on MX Toolbox.
  • "gmap",([Space] or [Tab]),[search terms]
    search on Google Maps
  • "gis",([Space] or [Tab]),[search terms]
    search on Google Image Search
  • "ga",([Space] or [Tab]),[domain name]
go to the Google Apps log-in page for one of the many domains I have to manage

You can sometimes edit variables in URLs. I can't think of any specific examples, but this has been very useful to me.

In Chrome, you can use [F12] or right-click an element and choose "inspect element" to change properties of DOM objects. I was recently on a page where a javascript error caused the "submit" button to be disabled. I changed the property and I was able to submit. I'll also change the size / type properties on text boxes to make things easier. I really didn't want to bring awareness to real-time DOM editing because I've been able to do some neat things with it. One of the practical uses is to clean up all the "visual noise" from a web page when I'm going to print or screenshot something. For example, printing an article without the comments, sidebar ads, web site header (categories and stuff), footer, etc... I delete the containing DIVs for those sections and the page reformats to use the space that is freed-up.

Screenshots

Mehh a lot of people know this:

[Print Screen|SysRq],Paste

However, I get emailed screenshots where the part I'm supposed to see is small and unreadable because the screenshot includes 2 whole monitors. Just do this:

[Alt]+[Print Screen|SysRq],Paste

That way, you only capture the current window.

Unless the screenshot is of a photo or something, PNG is the most appropriate type of compression and it's lossless. Screenshots of a web page or application with JPG artifacts really irritate me.

MS Paint can save PNG format, here's how for screenshots;
  • [Alt]+[Space],[R] to restore a maximized window so I can resize it
  • [Alt]+[Space],,[Arrow Keys] to resize. Use [Ctrl] for pixel precision.
[*][Alt]+[Print Screen|SysRq] to capture the screenshot to clipboard
    [*][Win]+[R],"mspaint",[Enter] to open MSPAINT
[*][Ctrl]+[E],[1],[Tab],[1],[Enter] to set the blank image to 1x1 pixel
[*][Ctrl]+[V] or [Shift]+[Ins] to paste the screenshot
    [*][Ctrl]+ to open Save dialog
    [*][enter filename]
[*][Tab],[P],[Enter] to select PNG format and save

if you wanna get work done it's best you invest in as many monitors as you can (before the monitors have a super computer to handle the multitasking). alt+tab and stuff is just useless really. multi-tasking on multi monitors is key to get real work done.

In negotiations... Usually the first one to speak loses.

Just go silent. Just because the other person goes quiet doesn't mean they don't want the deal - it just means they are better at the shyt than u and are waiting u out.

I need to work on this one because I'm wayy too anxious if there's money on the line. I just recently almost blow 40K deal, from being anxious over A 2k part of it... too many emails too much talk gets you fukked up with seasoned business people.

That is solid advice when it comes to verbal barter.. cliche sayings like 'Less is More & K.I.S.S (keep it simple stupid) come to mind on the bolded part:myman:

Also Materialistic things are not only worthless, they are harmful. We spend most of our time working hard to obtain them and once we have them they take up more of our time, maintenance etc....Less is more. Less you have, less time you will need to maintain it, fix it, worry about it, clean it, store it etc. Basically when buying ANYTHING ask the "how long" question. Just because you can get it on the cheap doesn't mean it will last. Buying something over and over is not only wasteful but more expensive over time.!

Moral of the story: Apply FORESIGHT on all investments that require you to part with hard earned capital!

If anyone knows .....How to rediscover dreams when the world has stolen them...let me know brehs :sadcam::lupe:

Instead of focusing on getting your money right, focus on getting your mind and your thoughts right. The mind is where everything begins and ends, everything else is just a temporary illusion. What blocks us from our goals is not external obstacles, but mental obstacles.

Think positive, not in a new age way, but in a literal way. What i mean by that is always think affirmative thoughts, and in a way as if it already happened - If your fat, dont think im too fat. Think i'm in shape, i just havent finished working on it. Dont say "i'm broke", say "i'm wealthy, i just havent reached my financial goals yet".

This is the hardest lesson for black people with "good jobs" to learn. Foreign luxury cars, McMansions, designer clothes, and the latest gadgets all in a futile attempt to display success. We need to create generational wealth, but you cant pass down a "good job" to your kids. Measuring wealth by material goods is a poor man's mentality, no one ever got rich by spending money, only by investing money.

Most people get their car worked on by various people, dealership service, oil change place, tire shop, self, etc. No one has information on service that was done by someone else.
Keep a small notepad in the glove box of your car with all maintenance work that was done, oil changes, replaced headlight bulbs, tires, etc..
Always note the date, mileage and work that was done. This is your maintenance log. Keep one for each car you have.
