Probation ain’t that hard to somebody that wants to stay free. For somebody who wants to keep 1 foot in the streets that’s a different story. With that being said that judge told Thug about how influential he is specifically. When I was on parole I stayed in the house and worked because anything else you risking your freedom. It’s one of 2 choices do the right thing or dont. That woman he retweeted about was not only law enforcement but a witness too. All he gotta do is make music and chill or he’s risking his freedom. Rapper Lil Woody tried to ask Young Thug a question about Rich Homie Quan from the witness stand during the September 3 hearing of the ongoing YSL Rico trial.
In a viral courtroom video circulating online, the prosecutor asked Kenneth Copeland aka YSL Woody, if rapper Young Thug had any problems with Rich Homie Quan bringing his gang members to his apartment. This was in context of Quan's feud with Young Thug.
In response, Woody directly asked Young Thug, who was present at court, to answer the question. He said from the witness stand:
In the video, Young Thug was spotted laughing after Woody directed the question at him. However, the prosecutor directed the question back at Woody soon after.
For the unversed, Lil Woody has been serving as a key witness for a while in the YSL Rico trial for allegedly having information about a number of crimes committed by Young Thug. Back in 2021, Woody reportedly gave out information to the police about an alleged murder plot involving Thug after being arrested.
However, the rapper has since then claimed that he lied to the police multiple times. YSL Woody has also given multiple bizarre statements in court during the Rico trial hearings, but the court continues to keep him as a key witness.
Lil Woody claimed he lied to the authorities during ongoing YSL Rico trial
Lil Woody has been a key witness for Young Thug's ongoing YSL Rico trial. The trial, which was set to begin in December 2023, finally started in January 2024. The rapper has reportedly been considered a witness due to his YSL affiliation.
In a court hearing in August 2024, Lil Woody lost his cool in the middle after the prosecution asked him questions. As per Complex, the rapper went on a rant in court, claiming he lied to the police.
Further, he accused Detective Thorpe, one of the officers involved in the case, of believing everything one said. The rapper continued:
Lil Woody also claimed that he would only testify in court when he feels like it. Judge Whitaker asked the rapper whether he would like to plead the Fifth Amendment to avoid testifying at court and prevent self-incrimination, the rapper said it would “depend on how he wakes up.”
Earlier on one of his trial dates on June 7, 2024, Woody pleaded the Fifth Amendment once to avoid testifying. He then refused to answer questions in court, giving short, vague replies, per the court videos available.
The presiding judge Ural Glanville warned Lil Woody to cooperate with the court. He also told Woody that several measures could be implemented if he refused to testify.
When Lil Woody refused to testify despite multiple warnings, he was arrested for contempt of court. The rapper has since then appeared on multiple dates to testify but provided vague and bizarre answers to his questions.
