because those nicknames were worthless. they ran those annual ppvs for over a decade and none of them sparked any sort of legacy, sentimentalism, or any sense of overall relevance as a stand-alone event.

i never understood the purpose of them and was glad when they switched to having more conceptual ppvs. night of champions is dope, btw.

Gotta disagree w u, nikka, No Way Out established a legacy, so did Backlash, Armageddon and Vengeance.

But having PPVs named after the gimmick matches therein makes more loot, so that's what they got now. They can bring back the others as Network Specials like with KOTR.

An edition of Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel is also set to happen at Roadblock, and it could be an interesting one. After Jericho’s second heel turn on AJ Styles on Raw this past Monday, WWE is setting up for Y2J vs. Styles IV at WrestleMania 32, and no one is really going to have any problem with that.

Sami Zayn is scheduled to make an appearance at Roadblock after making his official WWE main roster debut on Monday. He may have his first true singles match as a full-time member of the roster, and it will give him more of a feel of things going forward.
