crazy thing is that the floppy disks could be recovered as long as he let them dry. They didn’t get burnt or punctured but I guess to keep the storyline going, they’ll make it seem like the disks are destroyed.
In real life they were totally destroyed. Some might have been in better condition than others, maybe that's why he was able to re-make Method Man's album but not Deck's. Unless he legit forgot the process of making some of those beats.

I see masta killa FINALLY showed up.

also, you already knew once everything started to go well, that inevitable flood was coming since it hadn't happened yet.

what I didn't know is that rza had completed inspectah deck's album back then. cuz as we all know, inspectah deck's actual debut album didn't have much rza involvement and didn't drop until 1998.

I wonder how much :fire: music and classic shyt was lost in that flood tho :damn:

There's 2 floods. The first was '94 and he lost Tical, Deck's album and a hundreds of other beats & songs..some finished and some weren't. Deck was originally supposed to drop in '95-96. He had to redo Tical quickly because Mef had a DJ deadline.

My only problem is that the last episode they kinda time-lapsed it. I wish they had spent a little more time on the album release, prepping the cover...half of the cover aren't even Wu. It also seems more TV-esque. We know the full/true MK Chessboxin verse story. I did hear the MK is the one getting his head chopped before.

And Dirty inked his Elektra deal before Mef was DJ. Mef found out about Dirty on MTV or VMB Clan interviews...one of those..when he announced he had signed with DJ. Dirty was like "I had signed with Elektra."

Wonder how rza recovered from that flood me as one who used to produce beats when I lost beats I typically remembered what I did prior and could replicate it but shyt 5-6 albums worth of shyt? Wow.

And I guess rza just couldn't remember shyt that he did for deck album

that depends on how you produce and what.. i have a bunch on snippet beats that if lost i couldnt tell you what it was. and i have a few thats more polished that i can recreate a little. it all depends on how deep he was into the beat. My snippets are just starters, seeds to a beat
Being a computer person and 20 years later.. we know that.. but back then when floppies got wet or anything we thought it was destroyed. especially a flood with dirt and other stuff in the water

too bad this happened in the 90's. if this were in 2021, you'd have all those beats backed up in the cloud, so they'd never be lost. but it was a different time :francis:

RZA has said he spent many of those early years just smoking and eating turkey burgers while crafting those beats so if he was high all the time it would stand that he’s have trouble remembering a lot of the samples and what not. We have to remember this was literally HUNDREDS of beats he lost

Yup, the second flood happened in 96 - to make sure he didn't lose his beats, he started packing the floppy disks and shyt on higher shelves but that second flood wound up being higher :pachaha: It fukked up the equipment more than the beats though, and he lost his mic settings for each member, hence why Ghost's voice sounds weird on a few Ironman tracks.

That was another easter egg I was glad they put in the show, showing the labels on the board for each member.
