I've been trying to catch up; too many damn games to keep track of from the NBA to college hoops.
The women's game is really at an unfathomable level right now. The development in skill level is crazy to witness, in real time. I really wish that that the discourse around it would follow suit. The whole saga around players (ex and present) trying to do their damn best to bring down Caitlin and her brand has been nauseating. She's the best thing to happen to women's hoops for a long damn time, I wish folks would put whatever grievances they have aside and just embrace what she's doing for the game.

i've come to the realization that not everybody wants a bigger league. clark represents the end of a certain way of life for some people. i can understand the sadness and resentment. if you are a black woman or butch lesbian, there really isnt anything else just for you in sports. there really is no peaceful way to deal with it. some people are going to lose what they had and the league is going to be more corporate and full of typical sports fans.
this just has to run its course for a few years.

the biggest issue with the dumb paige vs caitlin arguments or paige career trajectory predictions is theyre looking at her expecting her to do what caitlin did statistically in iowaShe was national player of the year as a freshmanshe was making a name for herself. And you can't name the last 2 people who broke the scoring record off the top of your head. Just because it was hyped up this year doesn't mean everyone is going to start playing like Clark.
uconn players are never going to average 25+ ppg the system is just not set up for that especially with the caliber of talent that the program recruits relative to an iowa therefore it is no need for it to be a one woman show
diana, maya, stewie, phee etc never even averaged that much, they turned out just fine as scorers on the pro level

she has that killer instinct and clutch gene and does it all within the flow of the offense without having to force anything and her teammates still manage to eat at the same time, juju got the marketing right now but hannah might be too good to deny when its all said and done
