But since you asked, I'll point out one inaccurate statement. Your claim that fluoridated water "is not recommended for infants and pregnant women." Not recommended by whom? The government? They're evil and can't be trusted anyway right?

Anyway they say "excessive amounts," as in higher than the concentration in public water can cause problems in infants and pregnant women.

wrong. it puts infants at a higher risk for dental fluorosis. is the CDC a credible source?

CDC - Infant Formula - Safety - Community Water Fluoridation - Oral Health

Fluoride intake from water and other fluoride sources, such as toothpaste and mouthrinses, during the ages when teeth are forming (from birth through age 8) also can result in changes in the appearance of the tooth’s surface called dental fluorosis.

Recent evidence suggests that mixing powdered or liquid infant formula concentrate with fluoridated water on a regular basis may increase the chance of a child developing the faint, white markings of very mild or mild enamel fluorosis.

so again, why are we ADDING this to the water supply? if we add something to water supply it better have an impeccable medical record, and fluoride is suspect at best.

and its true anything can kill you in large enough doses. but we are talking about something slightly different which is consistent exposure both internally and externally several times daily every single day of our lives.

you are assuming you know your bodies capacity to dispose of these toxins, but unless youre getting weekly blood tests to analyze this stuff none of us know how much toxicity our body has absorbed. and thats the problem, NONE OF US KNOW HOW MUCH FLUORIDE WE INGEST ON A DAILY BASIS. and im not even taking other toxins into account yet. so again, with fluoride being an unknown why are we even chancing it?

plus this guy made a good point in the video ive never heard before. when you add fluoride to the water you're not just adding it to the water, you add it to everything made from that water. so think about all the drinks and foods from stores we consume on a daily basis made from fluoridated water.

so at this point im not even trying to convince anyone that fluoride is toxic and shouldnt be added to the public water supply. im simply saying we dont know enough about the long term health effects of fluoridated water to take such a risk of adding it to the water supply. and in addition it doesnt seem to have overwhelming health benefits, so it would be responsible to err on the saide of caution, yes?

and if it's one of the top ten medical initiatives of the 20th century then why are so many people opposing it? including members of the scientific community? are THEY uninformed as well? https://www.fluoridealert.org/researchers/professionals-statement/

:snoop: Please reread my post you quoted. And while you're at it, read the entire CDC info sheet you linked. The very first sentence:

"The proper amount of fluoride from infancy through old age helps prevent and control tooth decay." :dead:

I don't have anything else to say to you about this topic man. You're just going to go with your paranoid inclination and ignore all reason and evidence to the contrary. You ressurecting this :trash: thread after 2 days. Nobody else wants to talk about this shyt but you because they know it's a bullshyt non-issue.

:snoop: Please reread my post you quoted. And while you're at it, read the entire CDC info sheet you linked. The very first sentence:

"The proper amount of fluoride from infancy through old age helps prevent and control tooth decay." :dead:

here's the first sentence of the third paragraph:

"Recent evidence suggests that mixing powdered or liquid infant formula concentrate with fluoridated water on a regular basis may increase the chance of a child developing the faint, white markings of very mild or mild enamel fluorosis."

so either the CDC doesn't consider tooth decay and dental fluorosis the same thing, or they are contradicting themselves... unless fluoride can prevent and control tooth decay AND cause fluorosis at the same time.

and the bigger point is only one of our perspectives in verified scientifically. dental fluorosis has been documented thoroughly in infants who are exposed to fluoridated water, but please show me the studies that describe the health benefits of fluoride for infants. ill wait.

yes one of us is definitely ignoring all reason and evidence to the contrary.

non-issue tho right?

vic just answer one question. what is your opinion on all the health professionals who oppose water fluoridation?

and have some intellectual integrity for once lol

UPDATE: 9/1/13--the purpose of this thread is to gauge how the folks of HL feel about public water fluoridation. in light of the close-minded fukkery im dealing with in the other thread i wanted to revisit this and see where HL stands. if im bugging i want my people in HL to reel me back in. if im justified in my skepticism of water fluoridation i want my people in HL to let me know.

No, you didn't justify anything...you don't even know the difference between tooth decay and dental fluorosis. :snooze:

fluorosis is staining of teeth, decay is damage to the enamel and/or the structure of the tooth, so wtf is your point?

as a supposed man of science your inability to weigh this information is disappointing

You seriously can't comprehend that these are two completely different things? :what::snoop:

In November 2006 the American Dental Association published information stating that water fluoridation is safe, effective and healthy; that enamel fluorosis, usually mild and difficult for anyone except a dental health care professional to see, can result from ingesting more than optimal amounts of fluoride in early childhood; that it is safe to use fluoridated water to mix infant formula; and that the probability of babies developing fluorosis can be reduced by using ready-to-feed infant formula or using water low in fluoride to prepare powdered or liquid concentrate formula. They go on to say that the way to get the benefits of fluoride but minimize the risk of fluorosis for a child is to get the right amount of fluoride, not too much and not too little. "Your dentist, pediatrician or family physician can help you determine how to optimize your child’s fluoride intake."

But I forgot, you know more about fluoridation then the American Dental Association.

No wait, they KNOW fluoridation is unsafe, but they're conspiring with the US government to give all of our kids brain damage and enamel fluorosis. Because they're evil like that.

You seriously can't comprehend that these are two completely different things? :what::snoop:

:what: i just gave you two different definitions in my above post. read it again.

1. fluorosis=staining of the teeth
2. tooth decay=physical damage to enamel or structure of the tooth

But I forgot, you know more about fluoridation then the American Dental Association.

No wait, they KNOW fluoridation is unsafe, but they're conspiring with the US government to give all of our kids brain damage and enamel fluorosis. Because they're evil like that.

again, from the CDC website:
http://www.cdc.gov/fluoridation/safety/infant_formula.htm

"Recent evidence suggests that mixing powdered or liquid infant formula concentrate with fluoridated water on a regular basis may increase the chance of a child developing the faint, white markings of very mild or mild enamel fluorosis.

You can use fluoridated water for preparing infant formula. However, if your child is exclusively consuming infant formula reconstituted with fluoridated water, there may be an increased chance for mild dental fluorosis. To lessen this chance, parents can use low-fluoride bottled water some of the time to mix infant formula; these bottled waters are labeled as de-ionized, purified, demineralized, or distilled."

So in other words, the .7-1.2ppm of fluoride currently in the water is enough to cause fluorosis in some young children. so much for one of the top ten health initiatives :heh:

i cant even believe i have to explain this. yall definitely dont have children :snoop:

Bay upholds ban of toxic fluoride from water supply

Australia-fluoride-protest-Byron-Bay.jpg

An outstanding ban on artificial water fluoridation has been upheld in the Australian coastal town of Byron Bay, located in New South Wales, following a heated encounter among local residents, scientists, dentists and city officials. The Fluoride Action Network reports that the Byron Shire Council ultimately ended up voting five-to-three to uphold the fluoride ban, relying on modern science which shows that fluoridation is both harmful and ineffective.

A group of fluoride-truth activists showed up to the recent meeting, which threatened to undo the ban, and made their voices heard about the outdated practice. Reports indicate that a large crowd, which included many local residents, showed up waving large signs and banners that said things like “We, the people of the Byron Bay Shire, strongly object to having our water poisoned with FLUORIDE!!!” Others brought letters signed by local doctors opposing the practice and delivered them directly to city officials.

Bay upholds ban of toxic fluoride from water supply

With the exception of a few stubborn sticklers, the council decided that it is simply not appropriate to forcibly medicate the public with chemicals derived from the waste of phosphate and fertilizer production...

is that really where the fluoride comes from that goes into our water :what:

negroes out here drinking shytty water literally, and wonder why they end up with brown stained teeth :snoop:
