True but there is a difference and familiarity between AAs who settled the area for all Blacks decades ago, Islanders, Anglophone West Africans and East African refugees who came after and groups I've never come across like Rwandans and Guineans. A diverse group of Africans outside of the usual nationalities seem to be moving here probably due to the growing Nigerian population. Thought it was a bit interesting.
Immigrant groups are increasingly moving to places besides the traditional NYC, la areas etc.
I was reading an article on how places that barely had any immigrants 20 yrs ago are now attracting them at high rates
For example , in the last 15 yrs The Atlanta area's Jamaican population has grown to the third largest Jamaican American community after the tri state and south Florida

The high cost of NYC, DC etc is probably pushing Africans (like everyone else) to lower cost metros

been noticing an increase in Ghanaians and Sierra Leoneans in NJ

I'm really interested in Sierra Leone as it apparently was founded for escaped/former British slaves (similar to Liberia ) and their Krio is damn near the same as Jamaican Patois
:ohhh:. Goes to show that there's been mad links between the diaspora and especially English influenced West Africa (Lagos, Liberia , Sierra Leone etc)
and of course Nigerians (afrobeat is now played on all the Caribbean radio shows :ld:)
