A terror attack like 9/11 or some well-funded terror organization is all you need to get some kind of revenge.

I don't think America has a nation could survive another huge homeland atrocity.

9/11 united the nation. People were extremely proud to be Americans after that attack. That works highly against Iran's interests. They need the country to stay divided and hope the anti-war side wins our local debates.

Plus attacking the US would have NATO allies get involved. Iran’s gameplan is to make America look like the aggressor. This would weaken what is left of America’s standing in the war. Also the country would be even more divided than it was during the Iraq war. In the end having the moral high ground in a war matters.

The Kurds don't have a choice. They're going to take any helping hand we extend, even after we abandoned them. Its not the first time thats happened, probably won't be the last. They're pretty much surrounded by people that want to exterminate them so again, they really have no choice and would love our support.

Soleimani was gaining too much power and support in Iran, he was consolidating power in the region and planning on, from my Persian heads, starting a new revolution and overthrowing the ayatollah and he would have had the support from the people. Basically Iranian officials gave the ok.
