You guys know studios dedicated to porting and small side-teams that specialize in porting are usually assigned to do these.
It's not like it's preventing the development of new games by major studios. If they are done in house it's usually a very small team assigned to do it.
I don't get why everyones so mad about a lot of em being released. It's intended for a particular audience, if you don't want it, don't buy it.
But this idea that studios have their whole teams doing THIS and are NOT working on new games is just not true. These remasters aren't 'preventing' anything.
I mean I can see how it's annoying, and is greedy, I'm not saying I love the idea of a million remasters, but it really doesn't affect me either.
When Blu Ray came out were ya'll mad at a movie get re-released a year after it came out on regular dvd?

That's how I feel about all these remasters. They're great for people who never got to play them before, but I'd only get them if they were in the $5-10 range.
The ONLY one I'd make an exception for if they ever made it would be SOCOM II HD. I'd pay full price for it.
