we played awful and still were right there for most of the game vs a really good team.

plus miami beat louisville so we still control our own destiny in the acc

i cant believe marcus, brice and joel are about to play their last home game damn

here they all were on media day as freshmen

grabbed a beer post game with my buddy and in walks brice who sits right behind us. adults went full fan girls and were asking for pics so we just let the man eat in peace.

when they showed the top 10 and theo getting dunked on popped up, he just started dying laughing at him lol

congrats to marcus. saw this article on where he ranks in the roy williams era and stuff like being a 3 time academic AA and what that means. the stuff he has done for this program goes way past the on the court play.

Marcus Paige Named 1st Team Academic All-American

congrats to marcus. saw this article on where he ranks in the roy williams era and stuff like being a 3 time academic AA and what that means. the stuff he has done for this program goes way past the on the court play.

In the midst of an academic scandal, UNC needed a player like this to be a pole mark at this point. I remember how UNC was shuffling Paige off to the NCAA to speak about academics as a sophomore and junior. The kid is one of my all time favorite Heels....he needs a ring.

yeah it goes beyond his play.

-he was never supposed to play as a freshman but kendall left and he had to take over. kept our heads above water
-sophomore year, we are legit title contenders but pj goes down. marcus goes off anyways. win @ #1 sparty, winner vs state, beat duke and are a possesion away from the sweet 16
-last year he isnt healthy for more than a week. plantar fascia issues and ankle issues. team flat out isnt very good and he shows up every day, plays his ass off, winner vs louisville, makes a run to the acc finals and were one nate britt going full retard sequence from an elite 8
-obviously this year, he breaks his hand, sees his best friend take on the role that was supposed to be his and is in the worst shooting slump of his life. doesnt complain one bit. continues to contribute wherever is needed

and the scandal stuff has just been crazy. dude works his ass off in a legit tough major. every press conference or campus meeting or anything, he has not only been the face of unc basketball but the face of unc athletics as a whole. all while having to carry teams.

he is hands down the most important player in the roy williams era. it has been a rough four years and he has almost single-handedly kept this program's head above water.

if anyone deserves to go out on top, it is marcus. people 20 or 30 years from now will look up and see his jersey in the rafters and think "oh he had a nice career" and not think twice about it. and that will be a slap in the face to the career he has had title or not. one day when i have kids and raise them to be as crazy of a diehard as i am, they will know about the marcus paige era

i know some may clown on me or call me a faq or a homer for just going off about marcus but i dont give a shyt
