Shame too..it's some good players that have came out of NC like Chris Leak, Todd Gurley, Muhammed Masdaqoui, & I think UGA is signing the #1RB from up there for next season. Y'all can't keep talent in the state.

Not to mention if one decides to stay in-state; we gotta fight over him with State, dook, even ECU. It's almost a wrap if a cat is a five-star prospect; he's getting poached by a bigger program out of state. Clemson had been eating good here for awhile too.

My take from the scrimmage: Brooks the best big UNC has right now, the pace UNC seems like they're working on in practice seems extremely fast, Felton hella saucy with it and looks more comfortable than 7th ever did last season already, Cam shot seems a lot more effortless than Justin's and I see him being consistent from the jump, Brandon Robinson is ready for decent minutes this year, and UNC gotta find a way to incorporate more interesting things (3pt contest, dunk contest, etc) to Late Night. Three dance routines is too much.

Yeah the dance routines been played for years. Kenny Smith does a good job hosting these things, but like you said gotta get something else going during these things.

I feel the same way about the players you mentioned. Was impressed by all 4 of em. Wish Kenny Williams could find some consistency. We need his shots to fall this year.

some thoughts from when i was there:

-cam looks amazing. he has such an effortless stroke. he needs to lock in on defense like justin did in the tourney but if he does, he can damn near replace what we lost with jj

-theo hit a few shots. if we can have him shooting 35% from 3, we'll be cooking.

-all the freshmen bigs looked good. manley is so massive in person. still thinks brooks is the guy who will start. he showed a little range and looks the most polished but its gonna be unfair when those three are upperclassmen

-jalek is special. he just made everything look so effortless

darius days (top 75 overall guy) to announce on friday between us and lsu. he's legit pretty good and will be that 2-3 year player that roy loves to get.

my only concern is that it takes up our last spot and we may then not have room for romeo or shyttu. seems to be trending in our direction but i'll trust roy here

I don't know why, but I'm the most excited about Huffman outta the 3 bigs. It's clear that Brooks is the most skilled, but something about Huffs "clumsy strength" that has me excited about him as an upperclassman. He's like a Joel with hands. The only thing about Theo shooting better is I don't want him to fall in love with it. I'm sure he's heard that in order to have a shot at the next level, he has to be more consistent from distance, so I hope that he isn't out there jacking up 4 threes a game. I hope Roy turns Jalek loose. I always wonder how Roy would be with a player that was extra saucy with his game. Even OG Dean and Guthridge allowed Easy Ed to throw lobs off the glass and shyt.....but Roy always keeps stressing the best pass is a bounce pass. I wanna see a couple fake behind the back passes, oops, no looks, etc. It may sound reactionary but I honestly think Cam is a much better shooter than Jackson. Not sure if he's a better "scorer" than Jackson because Jackson had that floater and a bunch of crafty ways of getting open and scoring around the basket. I do know he's a lot more physical going to the basket than JJ was and doesn't live in his own head the way JJ did at times. From the scrimmage, it seemed like they were making an effort to up the pace and everyone is letting it fly. Unlike the glorified dunk contest at Big Blue Madness, this scrimmage showed a glimpse into what the team will actually look like and I'm pretty damn excited.

I think Roy really has a good idea that Romeo isn't coming. Roy has the depth in the post moving forward past this year, so he should continue to put his eggs in the shyttu basket even though he's made it clear he's a one and done. For the life of me, I don't see how Vandy is even in the running coming down the stretch.

I watched tape from Cam last season and he's a better shooter than Justin but he doesn't have JJ's midrange or in between game (floaters, runners). I hope my guy Brandon Robinson can crack the rotation, I like his game

Kenny better find some confidence in his shot or he will be leapfrogged by Brandon. And 7th definitely will be leapfrogged by Baby Felton.

From what I remember seeing during Late Night was Robinson hitting his mid range shots. Defensively, I like what Robinson did when he got minutes last year. I think he’s gonna make the biggest leap from last season to this season.

i think it is the exact opposite tbh

shyttu seems to be trending towards vandy but romeo is getting a lot of buzz. his dad and him were raving about the visit last weekend.
