He seems like he truly believes his talk and boasts like its his divine right or something . He reminds me kind of how Weidman truly seemed like he thought he'd beat spider despite most thinking he was crazy
now aldo is a bad bad man but after seeing barao, spider go down idk if aldo can't get touched
It's a bit different for me. Yeah, the confidence is there (which is great for numbers) and the striking skill is there, but I'm not really convinced by the rest of his game. I actually feel like he leaves himself open far too much when he goes in for the attack, doesn't really check kicks (which is a problem when he sticks his lead foot out the way he does), keeps his chin out as if nobody will touch him and I'm not
that impressed by his movement in the octagon. That's fine against the guys he's been facing, but against guys like Aldo, Edgar and Mendes, he's going to need more than just reach and striking aptitude. The more mobile fighters in the division are going to be able to prevent him from walking them down (either through their movement or through killing
his mobility), get inside his reach and tee off on him. If Conor doesn't cover up the defensive holes in his game, that fight against Aldo's going to be a very bad night for him.
It's not like Weidman, where I thought he was going to cause Silva problems due to his world-class grappling skill and strength (didn't think he would win though). I really don't see anything here that Aldo couldn't deal with. Not saying that Conor couldn't win (he's good enough and creative enough with his striking to catch him with a hard shot and take the belt that way), but just that there's nothing here to suggest that he's just going to walk into Vegas and snatch the belt off of Aldo's waist in a few months.
