People nowadays attention span is short and there's a lot of competition for people's attention from various directions.
I would rather have something everywhere in this era for let's say 2 months prior to the film than sporadic adverts for example 5 months before. I hope it will be really stepped up with trailers that air everywhere big possible, particularly with demographics that would be highly interested in a Pac film. This film because it's Pac has the potential to be record breaking for Hip Hop.
Nowadays social media isn't a bad thing to help create a buzz, it keeps the movie on people's minds as so many use it and it's inexpensive. But of course there comes a time like a month or so before the release where it has to be stepped up and be seen everywhere. The marketing and promotion is actually very important because this film could be hugely successful, I hope the ball isn't dropped because they have a potential classic and a goldmine in their hands if they play it right.
I will be concerned if in a month prior there's nothing or a whimper, at the moment willing to see what they do as it draws closer. I hope its everywhere around a month prior and increasingly so the nearer it gets to release...
