Official True Blood season 5 discussion thread

The fairy dying shyt pissed me off, not just because it was utterly ridiculous looking (Honestly, just fukking blast him and stop fukking about, why is her crew just sitting there watching?), but because it played into one of the biggest issues that this show has always had : The vampires are too fukking powerful. Werewolves, fukking mages, maenads, shifters, fairies...doesn't matter if you're fukking fast.

As much as people seemed to hate on last season...I thought that Marnie was brilliant, if only because she was the first one to actually be threatening to vampires. Took those mother fukkers to the limit, had spells on em and shyt....

Far as deaths go....I dunno, the show could really do for one of the majors falling. That would SOOOO up the ante on everything for the remainder of this series...still, I'm guessing that Bill/Eric/Sookie are definitely safe. Showrunners become cowards and when push comes to shove they will do what is safe. Hope I'm wrong, I would love to be thrown a curveball for once.

One thing I liked about this episode is that they brought back the Tara/Jessica connection for a bit. I thought they ruined it earlier in the season when they fought, but it seems they both got over it pretty quickly.

It would just be cool to have two young vamps talking about what it's like to be what they are more often.

This may be an unpopular opinion but I really think Bill needs to die.
The character is ripe for being killed off, he really has no unique place in the show anymore...Eric can fill all the positions that Bill fits into: the moody vamp that Sookie wants to bone (its not even like he is considered Sookie's one true love anymore); Eric can very easily fit into any storylines that call for the high ranking political vamp; Eric's vamp family is fuller and more colorful than Bill's; Jess even has more interesting things going on in her life outside of being Bill's progeny. The dude is just a superfluous vampire on a show with a shytload of them.
And since they have allowed him to start directing episodes they can off him without any hard feelings by allowing him to become the series semi-regular director.

This is not unpopular me. I always rooted for Eric over Bill.

I think if they do kill a main character off, it would be open-ended like they did with Tara last season. Remember, when we though Layfayette was the corpse in the car after season one, just because we thought they were following the books. I doubt, they're going to kill a beloved character off. But, they need to start trimming the boring stuff out.

Yup, and vampires couldn't touch the maenad from season 2 so idk why she was lumped in with everything else. Bill tried biting that bish and started vomiting his guts out

One thing that i never got about True Blood is why are the most important things in the vampire world happening in these obscure irrelevant places, i know it's the setting of the show but you'd think the authority base would be somewhere important.

Im an episode back, but this shyt has become an absolute joke. I expect 80s laugh tracks to play after certain scenes. Killing a vamp with chopsticks? :aiccomeon: You can tell the writers and producers treat this shyt like a running gag.

i like that they added more comedy to the show
