One thing that I don't like how they've portrayed vamps in this show is that when it comes to the older vampires, they don't seem to show any true legit power differentials between them and any other run of the mill vamp. They all move at that super speed right out the gate, to which it never seems to be a difference in speed there. Same thing with brute strength. And apparently since that gay reverend vamp and Jessica can already do jedi mind tricks, so where's some truly different power level stuff to be shown. I'll recap what little I've seen them do as far as that.
Godric was shown to have a higher silver resistence than younger vamps.
And Eric did fly that 1 time.
That's about it really. Also, apparently older vamps are even more allergic to sunlight according to Godric's death and statement of such, so that kinda negates the higher silver resistence. And even the older ones still die with a stake thru the heart, which could be done by anyone that literally catches them sleeping. The way things are as is, you can't really even look at an older vamp and see much difference (strength potrayal, appearance or otherwise) between that or a younger vamp unless it is stated in typical True Blood fashion of "Hey guy, I'm older than you, so I'm automatically better than you, even if I'm only older than you by like five days and shyt". Hell, even then, I'm not always sure the old to young shyt works much, cuz wasn't Bill younger than that authority chick that hired him on anywayz that he killed?
I wish they would've used other forms of vampire lore to establish power differences between older vamps to younger ones, like usage of non-human familiars, telepathy, turning into bat/wolf/mist forms, etc and/or some more individualized powers.
And yeah, werewolves suck all kinds of balls on this show. It's almost like why even bother with them. A shifter could liable kill a pack of werewolves if he turns into the right creature.
