How good is Erriyon Knighton, hearing he is next up for USA
He's 17 and finished 4th in the 200m final. Knighton broke Bolt's under-20 world record in the 200m earlier this year.

He's definitely got next. If he stays healthy and remains focused, he will do special things in the future.

So in your opinion, what are the 5 easiest sports to play and win a gold medal?

What are the 5 hardest sports to play and win a gold medal? (You can choose individual events as well)

Not to shyt on your question but all of these are unfathomably hard. I dont think there's an "easiest"
Like folks probably looking at race walking like I can do that :childplease: but them cats be MOVIN! The endurance shyt like that takes is insane.

Got Parchment and Levy in the hurdles.

The team wasn’t slow they just had one bad pass and that’s all it takes now. Other countries have stepped up their game, US and Jamaica can’t win just off the strength of their depth while ignoring the fundamentals of relay technique.

Agreed. The relays this year is like 2004 for US men's basketball.

Jamaica and U.S. have the talent, but we have to step up our game significantly because the rest of the world has improved.

It's difficult to define. The easiest measure would be "Which sport do the most people play?" as opposed to "Which sport do the least people play?" All things considered, it's easier to medal in a sport where few people play.

But then there are all sorts of individual considerations. Because of their national programs it's almost guaranteed that a Chinese diver will win gold, whereas damn near anyone else in the world has basically no chance. A Brazilian is a lot more likely to be on the gold medal soccer team than anyone else. Someone over 6'6" is going to be much more likely to win volleyball/basketball gold than someone under 5'10". A Jamaican is infinitely more likely to win sprinting golds than any other country, and a Kenyan is far more likely to win distance events. So you could call running events or soccer the most competitive medals cause they're the most widely played sports, but it really depends on your country.

I'd say modern pentathlon, equestrian events, sailing, slalom canoeing, trap shooting, fencing, rhythmic gymnastics, BMX racing, trampoline, taekwondo, and race walking are among the easiest sports to win gold in, cause so few people ever train to compete at the olympic level.

Italy 4 * 100m >>> GB, USA, Jamaica, Canada, Nigeria :picard:

strange times

italy had the best technique, smooth handovers. on the itally team

Lorenzo patta - 10.12 is his best time
filippo tortu - 9.99 best time
Eseosa Desalu - 10.29 best time
Marcell Jacobs - 9.80 his best time (this year)

You don't have to have the 4 fastest guys, just be smooth on handovers

I agree, I think they are all hard to play and master in their own way, which is why I asked the question. Im sure there are certain events in which people feel they can actually do, and certain ones that you wouldnt touch with a 10 foot pole.

Right now track is just seen as football conditioning. My sister is a track coach and she says football coaches grab them kids early, they at all the meets.

That's what it's always been. A way to keep football players in shape in the offseason.

Liberia's Fahnbulleh who finished 5th is NCAA champion at 19. I think he and Knighton will battle for the next 4-8 years if they stay healthy. They train together.

I think TV doesn't do most of these events justice.

Like HIgh jump on tv is :ehh: but these dudes are literally jumping over a 7.7 feet

its like trying to jump over a christmas tree

Yeah my barber was saying he broke Bolts record, that's how I heard of him. Will keep an eye on him
