None of the people behind that account contribute a net positive to the board.

TLR is a tricky one. It’s quite a decent sub-forum because of the general convos had in there but God, why are there so many shytty takes posted?
I swear, I feel like I’m losing brain cells when reading topics there. These takes are supposedly made by grown ass adults too



Now it’s either I have to start putting more people on ignore or block the sub-forum altogether which I don’t wanna do.

There are certain types of threads that I simply avoid because they are discussing a celeb or influencer that I don't know or care about so I miss alot of that BS. Takes on social and political issues are all over the board in TLR. I wonder to what extent all that dumb shyt even represents their views. Like are they generally decent normal people with a bit of an a$$hole streak, and it's just the a$$hole streak metastizes online because that's what gets them attention?

I legit have no idea because I don't know anyone who acts that way in real life. So I can't tell if they're posing on the internet or just a segment of society I literally never have to cross paths with.

Some of it surfaces by me just asking about certain topics, but a lot of it is them following social media cues (like the IG outlets spreading that Purge is coming to Chicago narrative….or overly simplified social media videos against women).




Main difference is, irl when you breakdown the faulty logic or how the SM outlets they consume (balleralert, or aggregated Fox News shyt) are either unwittingly or intentionally misguiding or or skewing information….they usually have a ‘oh shyt you right’ moment. But maybe that’s just out of perceived shame.

Noticing a cruel irony in TLR and in general with the hotep crowd where any attempt to reign in Kyrie and his racist statements are a sign of the all-powerful Jews putting their finger on the scale. Any attempt to combat racism is seen as a confirmation of racist tropes/a sign that someone is beholden to Jewish ppl.

There's a complete inability to view the world from a different perspective in a way that makes me nervous about the future. It's not just a lack of empathy but a complete inability to think critically about the situation. The responses I read increasingly come across as just MAGA-babble with afrocentric themes.I don't have faith that the MAGA crowd will suddenly see the light so I'm unsure what will make these black people less racist. From there, the cycle just continues where <insert race here> people don't stick up for <insert another race here> people because they were racist/indifferent about XYZ issue, and we slowly become increasingly divided
