Also gotta be asinine to still be getting nonstop Nas questions at this point in life. AZ got an entire career, loosies etc yet people still want to ask why didn't he do an album with Nas, can it still come out, how did it feel when Nas did/said xyz, nonstop. Guys get put into a box and there's nothing they can do to get out of that mid 90s to early 00s box in the minds of a lot of fans. Every album has to sound like the old shyt, you have to rap about the old shyt (ie no artistic growth), you gotta dress the same etc. You really start to get it when you look at how people like Math act, dress, talk, etc. They're stuck in a past era, the only modern thing about them is the poorly fitting current fashion they try to wear. Everything else is regressive.

Ironically these guys interviewed older guys like AZ, Guru, Dres etc who have aged well without doing corny shyt and you could tell they weren't interested in any of the personal growth. They just want to relive the old days.

To be honest, outside of his Nas affiliation, what are podcasts gonna talk about with AZ?

??? He has like 10 solo albums bro, lol. He's considered by most/everyone with a brain...easily, as one of the Top 20 MC's in New York history.

It'd be weird to just bypass his rap career origin story so Nas should be brought up...but that certainly doesn't have to be the entire discussion, maybe 5 or so minutes out of a 90 minute talk would be plenty. AZ isn't Memphis Bleek bro, lol, AZ is a legendary NYC rap giant without Nas.

AZ is like Kool g rap. Great rappers but they are boring as fukk in real life. This podcasts are looking for stories with fukkery and drama not good discographies lol
Pretty much. I don't agree with it, because I only really care about music. But these podcasts want clips.

I feel like one of the reasons Kool G Rap rarely does interviews is because he was with Karrine Steffans for 4 years and has a kid with her. And there's a lot of abuse allegations behind that too. I feel like that's all these interviewers would talk about with him.

Exactly. This is a problem I have with most of these old head rap podcast dudes. I'm starting to question whether they're hip hop fans or just people who enjoyed listening to some rap shyt while being young 30 years ago. Because if I was interviewing AZ, I'd want to know all types of shyt about music. His flow, writing process, the process of making that first single (any did it take any flack for dropping a ladies track), working with legendary producers, etc. The gossip and life shyt...who cares. Especially if it's clear the rapper does NOT want to go there. AZ and Nas are really similar in terms of just wanting to keep certain things personal. And I can't imagine being a MAN and wanting to press another man about women he used to be involved with, or drama he had with another man lol.

Typical AZ interview
- meeting Nas
- featuring on illmatic
- first solo album (interviewer will only mention sugar hill)
- the firm
- will there be a firm reunion?
- what color are Nas’ draws?
- multiple attempts to turn it into a Nas interview throughout the interview

You’d think AZ only had a career that consisted of one solo album and the firm.

:banderas:The bagfuel bloods was putting pressure on math.

:heh: Doggie seems to be enjoying the downfall of MEO

Bigga’s sound effects would make battle rap proud.

As far as Bigga, he needs to be playing a supporting role on a podcast instead of doing his own thing.
Facts! He does have some other show on his platform with Grandmaster Caz. Maybe that will pick up steam but he isn't an A mic imo.

Also can't believe he is trying to rap now.

That's why I prefer Bag Fuel, they ask more about the business and the artist process at times but Esso talks too damn much.
