I personally don’t mind Bag Fuel and I respect their consistency. They can be annoying during interviews you can tell most of their guests have a personal relationship with them so it feels more like a conversation than them intentionally interrupting.

They do need some self awareness though :mjlol:

I also respect them going outside the box and getting NYC basketball legends and lesser known industry guys

I actually like Bag Fuel too.

I know Esso from my Def Jam days. He was there too. He's a good dude. And he knows the music business well, so I like how he does the interviews. There's some ignorance thrown in there from time to time, but I think it's done in a way to be humorous. And he gets a lot of guests that he has 20-30 years of history with, so people are mad comfortable with him. That's a big deal on podcasts. And he can speak about a lot of different topics and different industries.

Hynaken is annoying though. That dude literally knows nothing. LOL!!

If I was making 100,000 a month in a space I'm sub leasing, the minute I have my first issue with the landlord I'm looking for another spot to lease under my own name and I'm explaining to them exactly what my business is.

But nikkas wanna buy Amiri hats.

Facts

Math made the podcast too much about himself.

For those without an ad-blocker or a premium, skipping the intro music to the commercial is a terrible user experience.

Making amends with Tariq Nasheed is cool. But Tariq as in NYC, he could've scheduled an interview with Tariq.

Math is a narcissist who isn't business savvy and lowkey slow

Thank you! I've been banging the "Bagfuel is horrific" drum since it started.

They have maybe 1 or 2 good interviews but Esso is unbearable. He's like Nore on steroids the way he interrupts guests. It's like he wants to ask himself these questions and just asks the guest so he can say how he feels on the subject. And Hynaken asks the dumbest questions.

I think it's the same thing that happens anytime there's a podcast break up, the ones who are seen as the lesser names get a lot of sympathy support online. Except for them, it hasn't translated into views except for when they talk about leaving MEO or they have a super big guest on. And even then they still peak at 150K.
I think they are all better together than apart. Math won’t let esso over do due to his own ego and esso won’t let math make it all about him. And they both kinda put hynaken in his place lol

Agree with everything, but Joe needs to get credit for selecting and curating his cast. That's a skill in itself and the main reason the show is watchable. Imagine if JBP went to just Joe, Ice, Emmany, and Jaewon lol. How many of us would be watching consistently months from now? With a mid cast there's only so much Math or anybody can do.
Big facts, you have to see what personalities go together. That's not easy thing to do but Joe is good at that. He saw Jaywon didn't have the chops for it and immediately took him off the pod. Chemistry is important but Math thinks it's all him and tries to control his host as well.

Space and Bigga live talking about it lmao

Edit:Bigga said it wasn't rent why Math got kicked out but because people were shooting at the shop.

Bigga also said his security company works for a senator in New York and he is a multimillionaire. I didn't know that.
Math is definitely leaving something out. Even Math can't be that bad at business to have a Barbershop and not use it as a Barbershop. They don't do nearly enough interviews for there to be a huge scheduling issue.

Also, I don't think subleasing is an issue. He should be making a ton of money from the podcast and decent amount of money from the barbershop. Lowkey it's a smart business model. Listening to him, it sounds like the issue is him refusing to pay the Utilities bill.

With all the drama, the show's ratings simply dropped, plus Math burned a lot of bridges - from 5Mics, Styles P,
What happened with styles p?
100-150k range per month
That's an insane amount of money to be making per month for who Math is and what he does.

He can't accept that his music is absolute trash.
This is probably another reason he hasn't been as successful as he could be. He thinks he's one flex bomb away from blowing up at fukking 40+

He said the electric bill was 7k if I'm not mistaken and that others was on his power line in the building. Space has said Math was making over 100k a month.

I do think maybe he was bad at business and was spending his money on fly clothes and bs instead of taking care of the bills because in the past he didn't pay his employees which is part of business. You have to pay the cost to be the boss and it's not just stunting and saying I'm the boss. You have to pay people, you have to make sure taxes is taken care of and you damn sure have to pay the rent. With that said he still has 1M subscribers on his page and I'm sure he will be back once he finds a new location.

Styles P got upset that Math hosted J-Hood, who was talking bad about The LOX and said that Math could've handled the interview differently and checked the facts before putting the interview out.

I get what Styles is aying but Math ain't fact-checking shyt. That's a wild thing to expect from these hip hop interview guys.

I think a few rappers had issues with Math after some interviews because he's more of a "street guy" then most of the people that are gonna interview them, so they expect him to not do certain things. But at the end of the day, he's a podcaster and he's gonna do and ask questions that'll get clicks. So you can't expect him to operate from a street perspective when it comes to his business
