I mean if they were going to do that they should have just set it in the first civilization during the human rebellion

There’s bits and pieces in origins.

Origins is the origin of the Assassin brotherhood. Odyssey is just one of the many events that lead up to it's creationSo they released a game that is supposedly the origins of the creed and for their next game they set it before the “origins”
It looks like they’re expanding origins scope and gameplay. I’m all in.

why the hell do we want assassin's creed games without the brotherhood?
ok get a bunch of random NPC's to form the exact same thing, using the same clothes, weapons, fighting techniques and verbiage... but lets not call them that in the past 2 games.. and lets not even go foward to tell the story, lets just start a new prequel that actually goes backwards, instead of getting to the actual origin

because we like history, the lore, and it's fun.Odyssey is closer to the first civilization. The main character is using one of the pieces of Eden in replace of the hidden blade, if I'm not mistaken.
Origins had a direct connection to an assassin mentioned in AC2.
Order of the Ancients, the precursor of the Knights Templar, seem to be older than the Brotherhood and I'm guessing we'll be seeing them in Odyssey.
and a reskin of Origins to the point where it should've been a DLC

It would of made more sense for Odyssey to be based on the origins of the Templar order since we know very little on how they came to be like we do with the Assassins.
