After peeping the leaked infinity war trailer im guessing the whole attack was meant for loki and thanos to get the tesseract.when thor gets his upgrade and starts smacking up hela thats when thanos gets pissed and beats this nikkas ass and tosses him into space while loki dips with the stone in all of the commotion.

I thought all along that loki would be Thanos' Mephisto in the MCU version of infinity gauntlet
