shyt was trash, started interesting but the last 6-7 episodes were some bullshyt
Slow paced and slow burn are two different things. This was slow paced with a whole lot of filler

I felt like the remaining episodes were a chore...just to get to the ending

...and I'm not one of those microwave oven mindset action junkies

Better Call Saul is a perfect example of a slow burn and every scene of that show's run is interesting.

Finished last night. 6/10. I think the payoff was very meh. Cuco or whatever the malevolent entity is called was underwhelming as an adversary in the end. They seemed to kill it fairly easily. Also, they concentrated on Ben Mendelson and his wife as a grieving family but their connection and the resolution of their grieving in regards to the entity seemed tacked on. My interest in this series was the realistic tone of the show when it had obvious supernatural elements. I think when those two collided, I think they handled that shyt well but the actual drama of the situation needed to be more compelling. Shyt, if they made the entity harder to kill and showed why it might be communicating with the grieving family thru imagery that would have given it more points.

Just finished this. Thought it was decent.. but don't think it needed to be 10 eps, 8 would have been perfect.

Also I don't think she got scratched by El Coco.. shyt was just a regular scratch
And the whole experience, falling in love/having dude she liked die, probably changed her.. so I don't think it's so crazy that she would listen to music afterwards.

The whole "who Terry" thing is odd tho:patrice:

Show scratched that TD1 itch for awhile. But I don't think it needs a season 2.

They really pad the show out. I lost interest. They spent way too much time setting up scenes.

I watched the first episode last night and off the strength of the 'True Detective S1/The Night Of' vibe, I binged all night til the morning lol

Slow doesn't even begin to describe the pacing. I would check to see what episode I'm on, thinking it's 5 or 6
…I'm still on 2 :mjtf:

Overall though, I thought the show was great - the El Cuco myth/writing had me shook and the acting was incredible.
I really do wish it ended as strong as it started (HBO needs to get it together.)

With that being said, if there's a S2, I'm in.

I’m sure I’m not the only one that knew they weren’t going to get into the detail backstory of cuco. The scary part about him was the complete unknown. and I’m not surprised a poster said the black lead is a c00n In real life. Ain’t no self respecting black women wearing that abysmal hair style on her head
