I feel like I’ve waited an ungodly amount of time for this movie. Only a week and a half left

Holy shyt. I've been moving the last week and had a hectic June with weddings, bachelor parties, work, etc., totally forgetting this is coming out in a matter of DAYS

Can't wait for this film, but I've noticed there hasn't been nearly as much push back for Dev Patel/Gawain being Indian despite the character being part of Welsh or Anglo mythos. I swear these loudmouth online nerds who scream about sticking to source material only care when characters are turned Black.

Got this breh I work that got annoyed and used the same argument when Mahershala Ali was rumored to play Joel in HBO's TLOU. No complaints when a Chilean gets the role though...

He's Indian, but he has an "acceptable" accent (English). I also think that this being A24, people tend to be a bit more forgiving in regards to their movies.

I think they mostly really dislike Negroes in their sci-fi (at least, that's where I've seen a lot of vitriol), like Black people in space is anathema to those cretins. I love seeing em get mad, though LOL

Agreed not for everyone, a few people actually walked out at my theater (younger crowd probably thought they were in for some action)
However I really liked it, I will probably watch it again because I went in with no expectations or knowledge of the Poem so somethings I immediately caught and some I tried to process as I went along.

I’m going to go with a 7.5/10 not quite a classic, but also above average

(the big people were tripping me out couldn’t tell if they were real or not)

Just read the actual story and they deviated from some things...interesting

I went last night. Great acting by Dev Patel. Pretty good but not classic. I give it a 7.5ish. The changes to the story, not sure how I feel about them. They were also ambiguous AF with King Arthur
