This movie sounds like a let down. I'll see for myself but the lack of undeniable praise is weird for a Nolan movie. Seems like Dunkirk, as bland as that was, got more praise than this off early reviews.

So. I liked it. I didn't love it. I thought the score was great. It felt a bit at times like he wanting to make one of those convoluted/confusing British spy movies. Maybe that's a failing on his part. There were times i did have a smile on my face though. I think JDW is a bit shaky as an actor. He sounds like Denzel but has non of his smile or charisma. I thought Pattinson was great though. I really liked the last few min so that bumped it up a notch for me.

I would like to see it again.

As a stan though this may be a valid complaint of Nolan

I also thought the hyped plane scene was pretty lame.

I still give it 4 mics though it has issues and I can see it being divisive. Only a few scenes I could not understand the dialogue

The trailer and Patterson's delivery, sold it to be bigger than it actually was.

There was one absolutely horrible line he said that stuck out to me.
"You don't negotiate with a tiger. You admire it until it turns on you".
That 1st sentence makes no fukking sense at all and especially not in context with the 2nd line.
To me the most awful line is JDW running into the thugs in the restaurant kitchen and saying: 'Come on guys, I ordered my chili sauce like an hour ago.'

That might be the worst attempt at a one-liner I have ever seen.

I dont think I've heard a single person say they understood the movie yet. That's a little concerning

I understood it fine. The inversion stuff makes the time travel aspects seem more complex than they really are, and there are some deliberate gaps left in the plot, but if you've seen a good time travel film or two this really doesn't do things too differently.

I'm big on time travel films too and for me it helped to enjoy the film. At its core this is really a standard time travel plot (but executed well), inversion is more or less a spin on the method of travel that adds some extra dimension.

Bet. I'll be watching at 5. One of my friends texted me immediately after watching it and said I was gonna hate it so I'm very interested.

If you're gonna hate it it's most likely because of the complete lack of character development, mediocre action pieces and overwrought dialogues.:russ:

I laughed at the line
"They will destroy the world"
"Including my son"
