What have you been saying?
Nolan has great technical skill but his overwritten plots aren't as deep as folks pretend and his characters are cold and empty shells. There is a reason his only memorable characters are either from Batman films or films where his brother was involved in the writing (and not coincidentally TDK happens to be both).

Interstellar had a lot of dept, I also think the prestige had a lot of character development as well. I can’t recall if his brother had a hand in both of those. I think Nolan is great with characters his weakness for me has always been action and a somewhat convoluted plot. Although you are right a lot of his characters do come across as cold sometimes.

Reading some user reviews and they all say that the sound mixing is fukked :dwillhuh:

I do wonder if it's an Interstellar situation where the theater has to set it to a certain audio channel per Nolan's instructions but a lot were like "naw" lol
That was one of many bullshyt spins going around. There is also an online article somewhere with the sound mixer(s) and they claimed Nolan deliberately wanted dialogue in Interstellar to be difficult to hear to match the characters in the film having trouble hearing each other.

Maybe with Tenet apparently suffering from the same issue folks will finally admit that Nolan just has a shyt ear for sound mixing.

So many of Nolan's movies seem to have audio issues. Remember when Tom Hardy had to basically go back and to ADR for all his lines in Dark Knight Rises because when they ran the opening plane heist scene, no one could fukking understand a word that Bane was saying?

I saw Interstellar in IMAX and it was probably the loudest fukking movie I've ever heard in my life.

I play music loud as fukk in the care, so loudness on its own doesn't really bother me, but anytime the score was playing during dialogue (basically a huge chunk of the film) I had a hard time understanding what was being said.

:mindblown: If that's NOT spin then it's the dumbest artistic decision I've ever heard.

This is a Nolan movie alright:mjlol:
Exposition dump?

Man, I like Nolan movies, but for one of the few directors that is allowed to basically have a blank paycheck to write and direct totally original intellectual properties, he sure does have a lot of weaknesses as a filmmaker. Again, I like his movies, but he has a tendency to hand-hold the audience way more than he needs to. There's always exposition dumping, and the themes of the movies are usually super on-the-nose, without any subtlety. He's good with big ideas, but his character work isn't the best.

I also have always thought it's strange that he chooses to never show blood from gunshot wounds. No CGI blood. No practical effects blood. Nothing. I do love that he makes giant, original, spectacle movies with practical effects though.

79% with 42 reviews :francis: usually at this amount of reviews the score should be usually higher if it was going to settle on the low 80’s. This might fall into the high 60’s I hope not though. As this is Nolan's first film with a black lead and I want it to do exceptional both critically and box office wise.

Final trailer looks dope though still lost as to what the film is about...I just know it involves time so I am down.
I actually expect it to go up when the majority of domestic critics see it. Whenever that is. Since NY LA theaters are closed
