Terrible day for the Trump presidency . I don’t see how anyone can even begin to defend this . Hopefully the dems can waste even more time and money , digging up hookers and doormen to impeach him now .

I’m not sure about the distraction - it’s likely it played into his motivation but these strikes were supported by France and UK as well. It was certainly limited though.
