The Russians and some Syrian army soldiers have been embedded with the Kurds to create a buffer but it looks like the Russians are moving away from Afrin as Erdogan claimed to be starting an operation to invade.

Turkish and Russian military chiefs met earlier this week.

I haven't seen anything about ISIS wanting America on the border. I mean, ISIS has been squeezed by the SDF/US on one side and the Syrians/Russians/Iranian backed militias on the other. And the Iraqis across the border.

There's been fighters captured by the US/SDF who have been released. Some cynics/conspirator people believe the US may let these people run wild as a way to get leverage on Damascus.
